Being a fanatic in fast cars, I was into first person driving/racing stimulator games. I always kept on look out for the latest release possible. I normally would just go online and find the demo version, tried it out, rate it, if its up to my satisfaction, I'll head down to the nearest store to grab it. Its a sad thing that these games dont come cheap either and there aren't many free full version game download.

To my surprise however, there are indeed a number of people who do develop their own stimulator and sharing it free on the web because of their passion for fast car.

Although these are free driving simulators available for free downloads, they are by no means inferior to the commercial ones. Take a look at some of them which I have found.

Racers Free Simulator

Racer is a free cross-platform car simulation project (for non-commercial use), using professional car physics to achieve a realistic feeling and an excellent render engine for graphical realism. Cars, tracks and such can be created relatively easy (compared to other, more closed, driving simulations). The 3D, physics and other file formats are documented. Editors and support programs are also available to get a very customizable and expandable simulator. OpenGL is used for rendering.

Formula One Racing Car Model

Also, I've found this site,Andatura, the online racing simulation featuring hundreds of cars, tracks and a large amount of competitors from around the world. Its 100% free, but you will need to register for a account first. However, if you really start getting onto it, upgrading your vehicle may require to spent in order to get those parts to boost your car performance. Its free anyway, try it first. :)

Road Trip 2006

Road Trip 2006 Beta1 is a driving simulator that uses actual terrain data, photo-realistic textures, and actual highway alignment data to render the most realistic roadway graphics ever. The new track included in this game features the Boulder Canyon Highway, which winds its way up from the Front Range into the Rocky Mountains.

Cars, tracks, scenes and such can be created with relative simplicity in mind (compared to other driving simulations). The 3D and other file formats are, or should be, documented. Editors and support programs are also available to get a very flexible and expandable simulator. It uses OpenGL for rendering. It attempts to do well at the physics section, trying to create life-like cars to emphasize car control and doesn't cut back on realism in the interest of fun. If you've played Grand Prix Legends from Papyrus, you'll know what I'm talking about.

You may not find the graphic as appealing.But if you are just looking for a quick race game, this will definately entertain you while in office, the file size is only 10mb.

Cant get enough of acarade era? This game will suit your liking. Play through levels, and unlock music and level as you move on and gain more points. I actually downloaded this game into my PDA and play it on my way to work. It just kept me playing in order to level up. Haha. A real time killer.
